Industry presents an alternative to a centralised betting payment gateway

Representing FITSPA Uganda and PSPA, Vincent Tumwijukye of FutureLink Technologies appeared before the Parliamentary Committee on Finance to present the industry's view on the proposed centralised payment gateway for betting and gaming in the Tax Procedure Code (Amendment).

The associations put forward an alternative approach and proposed that all betting and gaming transactions be digital, so that they can be monitored efficiently.

The industry thanked the Committee, the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development and the Bank of Uganda for consulting before the law is passed.
