How we handleyour information

Last updated 23 October 2026

The Payment Services Providers Association collects only the information it needs to run the association, answer enquiries and process membership applications. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have under Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.

Who we are

The Payment Services Providers Association (PSPA) is the association of payment service providers, payment system operators and issuers of payment instruments licensed by the Bank of Uganda. Our Secretariat is at the 2nd Floor, The Wildlife Tower, Plot 31 Kanjokya Street, Kampala, and can be reached at secretariat@pspa.ug.

What we collect

When you use the contact form we collect your name, company, email address, phone number and your message.

When a company applies for membership we collect company registration and licence details, the names and contact details of the CEO and the contact person, and the documents uploaded with the application.

Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information such as IP address and browser type to keep the site secure.

How we use it

We use contact details to reply to you. We use application information to assess eligibility under Article 4.0 of the PSPA Constitution, to place applications before the Executive Council and to onboard approved members.

If you ask to receive press releases and event notices, we use your email address for that and nothing else. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Who we share it with

Membership applications are seen by the Secretariat, the Chairman and the Executive Council. We do not sell personal information, and we only share it with regulators or law enforcement where the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your request, and membership records for as long as a company is a member and for the period the law requires afterwards.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we no longer need it. Write to secretariat@pspa.ug. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Office.
