A workshop requested by the sector, led by the Executive Director for National Payment Systems.

The Bank of Uganda ran a workshop on risk management, data protection and corporate governance for PSPA members. The session responded directly to the sector's request for capacity building in corporate governance.

It was led by Dr Tumubweinee Twinemanzi, Executive Director of National Payment Systems, who spoke about the regulator's interest in building capacity with the sector and the creation of a dedicated directorate at the central bank.

Understanding each other

"We have to change our opinion of how we perceive you, and you have to understand the core things that are important to us as the regulator," he told members. He asked providers to innovate responsibly so that risks to the wider financial system are kept in check.
